We all have a picture in our heads of what the perfect holiday should look like. Unfortunately, it usually contains a crazy amount of work, money and planning to make it happen. Keep things simple by being organized and realistic with your plans. Most importantly, delegate some tasks. You don’t have to do it all on your own!
The basics:
- Make a to-do list
- Plan your menu
- Shop for food and beverages
- Clean your home
- Delegate
Things to do before the day of the party:
- Set up Christmas decor
- Bring out extra seating
- Set the table
- Chop the veggies
- Pre-cook sides and do any baking
- Set up the bar
- Make a music playlist
Set the mood:
- Use candles and lower the lights
- Play holiday music
- Have a fire in the fireplace
- Festive fragrances with potpourri, scented pine cones or candles
Keep in mind that no matter how well organized you are, something is probably going to go wrong. Commit to being positive regardless and have fun – it’s your party too!
